Visual map cluster
Nearby markers group temporarily so the map stays readable. The grouping changes with zoom and is never stored as an event.
Method
Fireflies is built around event records—not posts. The map is the doorway; the timeline, evidence, sources, and corrections are the product.
A source item or user report enters the system with its original date, location claim, provenance, and media preserved.
Automated checks can assist with file integrity, duplicates, metadata, and synthetic-media signals. They never declare truth.
Moderators compare independent reports, official statements, time, place, and source diversity before associating evidence with an event.
New evidence extends the timeline. Disputes, status changes, and corrections remain visible rather than disappearing into an edit history.
Two kinds of grouping
Nearby markers group temporarily so the map stays readable. The grouping changes with zoom and is never stored as an event.
Reports join an event only through review of time, location, subject, evidence, and source relationships.
